Plenary Lecture Ultra Low-Power Data Converters: Challenges and Design Solutions Franco Maloberti, University of Pavia, Italy
Power effectiveness is a key request for data converters used in portable systems. The signal bandwidth and the resolution point to an optimum architecture and new design techniques lead to a relentless decrease of the power. The supply voltage reduction imposed by the technology scaling diminishes the power but creates design challenges for maintaining performances. The presentation discusses various design techniques and presents experimental results of recent circuit solutions used in SAR, sigma-delta, sub-ranging and pipeline architectures. |
